The Ultimate Pixel Accessory: Carved Wood and Epoxy Case Review
Can a one of kind “bespoke” smartphone case justify an incredibly high price?
Today I'm taking a look at this wood and epoxy phone case from Carved made for the Pixel 7 Pro. Let me tell you, this thing is gorgeous. It's unlike any phone case I've ever seen before, and it's definitely one-of-a-kind thanks to that wood burl an epoxy material. No two cases can come out the same. Plus, it's got a MagSafe ring built in, so I can still use my MagSafe wireless charger.
But, as much as I love the look of this case, I have to admit it's not perfect. The first thing I noticed is that the buttons are all messed up. The power button is on the bottom, while the volume buttons are on the top. That’s the opposite of actual button layout for the Pixel 7 Pro Seriously, Carved? That's just weird and confusing. And then there are the ports. They're way too small, and my car charger cord doesn't fit snugly at all. That's a major pain when I'm using Android Auto.
On top of all that, this case is seriously expensive. We're talking $189! Ouch. So, yeah, I'm a little torn on this one. It's definitely a unique and eye-catching case, but the usability issues and the high price tag give me pause. If you're looking for something special and don't mind spending the cash, then the Carved case might be worth it. But if you're on a budget or practicality is your top priority, you might want to look elsewhere.
Anyway, that's my two cents on the Carved wood and epoxy phone case. Let me know what you guys think in the comments below!
