You know that feeling when you turn captions on for a movie?
It starts out helpful. You catch the lines you would have missed. But after a while, something changes. Your eyes drift to the text. You start reading instead of watching. And eventually… you’re just reading the movie.

These are the Even Realities G2 smart glasses, and after wearing them for a few months, I don’t think they’re bad. In fact, parts of them are some of the best I’ve seen.
But they led me to a realization I didn’t expect:
