The new Govee Neon Rope Light 2 is pretty great. You get bright colors, Matter support wrapped up in an affordable price.

One quick correction: When filming this review, I was thinking I had the original Neon Rope light and it worked for desks. But I have a variant of the rope light specifically made for desks. Sorry about that! The OG rope light can't be cut either, but I'm correct in saying it's not as flexible as the new Neon 2, and it's also not Matter compatible. So still plenty of good reason to buy the original. If you want a desk rope light, I linked it below!
