You know that feeling when you turn captions on for a movie?

It starts out helpful. You catch the lines you would have missed. But after a while, something changes. Your eyes drift to the text. You start reading instead of watching. And eventually… you’re just reading the movie.

That’s the closest way I can describe living with smart glasses.

These are the Even Realities G2 smart glasses, and after wearing them for a few months, I don’t think they’re bad. In fact, parts of them are some of the best I’ve seen.

But they led me to a realization I didn’t expect:

Having information in your vision all the time doesn’t just help you… it changes how you pay attention.
